Vietnam, más oportunidades en tus compras

La entrada en vigor el pasado 1 de agosto del Acuerdo de Libre Comercio entre la UE y Vietnam ha supuesto un hito fundamental en el fortalecimiento de las relaciones económicas bilaterales de la UE con una de las economías más dinámicas de la ASEAN. 

El Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) implica la eliminación inmediata del 65% de los aranceles sobre las exportaciones de la UE a Vietnam y del 71% de los derechos de este tipo para las importaciones procedentes del país asiático.

El desmantelamiento de las tasas arancelarias para el resto de productos se irá produciendo de forma paulatina en un período de hasta siete años para los productos vietnamitas y de hasta 10 años para los europeos.

 Esta situación mejora, por tanto, la competencia por precio frente a la oferta de los productores japoneses, coreanos o americanos y posibilita además a las firmas implantadas allí exportar prácticamente sin aranceles a Europa.

The free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Union have approved and will come into effective from the 1st August 2020. This agreement marks the new trade chapter for both Vietnam and 27 European countries. Together with Singapore, Vietnam is the second member of South East Asian countries have the free trade agreement with the EU.

 

So, what is the benefit of EVFTA?

After 7 years effective, almost 99 % of the elimination of customs duties for goods import from Vietnam to Europe. And 91 % of the elimination of customs duties for goods import to Vietnam from the EU, the rate will be up to 98% after 10 years.

However, right after the agreement effective on the first august 2020:

  • – 85% of the elimination of customs duties for goods import from Vietnam to Europe (Import tax to EU = 0%)
  • – And 48,5 % of the elimination of customs duties for goods import to Vietnam from the EU (Import tax to VN = 0%)

With this agreement, GDP of Vietnam in the year 2023 is predicted to be as Singapore in 2019, about 262 bilion USD.

The progressive increase of Vietnam GDP will be 2,5%, 4,6%, 4.3% by the year 2020, 2025, 2030.
